Taylor Fritz Serves Up Collectibles In a New Collaboration Video with BOXED and Learner Tien

What do Taylor Fritz, American No. 2 Singles Player, and BOXY have in common? They both are right-handed tennis players, are huge gamers, and love collecting Pokémon cards on BOXED.

Today, we’re excited to announce that BOXED has teamed up with Taylor Fritz on a brand new social activation ahead of the biggest event in US tennis in New York City. Taylor Fritz (the current No. 2 American Singles Player) and Learner Tien (the current No. 3 American Singles Player) joined BOXED on a court in New York with some of our friends to take part in a special ‘BOXED Bottle Battle’.

The rules are simple: Taylor and Learner each captain a side and spin a bottle between the two of them. Whoever the bottle lands on picks up a racket and serves a tennis ball at an opposing team player to earn a point.

To complete the teams, Taylor and Learner recruited BOXED friends including IslandGrown, NickKnowsBall, Crispy Pokémon, and PassionPrice. 

The battle was as heated as you would expect from the No. 2 and 3 American Singles Players, and so to settle the 2-2 tie, Taylor and Learner took part in a 3v3 BOXED Battle to determine who goes home with thousands of dollars' worth of rare Pokémon cards, winner-takes-all the cards. The pot included some huge chase cards like the Hidden Fates Charizard, XY Evolution Charizard, and the Grey Hat Pikachu.
