Skyridge Charizard Returns to BOXED and Sits Atop Our Current Grail Collection
BOXED is thrilled to announce that after months in hibernation, we’re taking our PSA 10 Skyridge Charizard out of the vault once more and putting it up on the site as our Super Grail chase card.
As you might remember, we first released the Skyridge Charizard earlier in the summer as part of our Skyridge Summer event. Alas, the event came and went with nobody pulling the Skyridge Charizard, so we placed it back into our secure vault. We’re hoping that doesn’t happen again, because we want someone to pull this awesome card!
Why Is the Skyridge Charizard So Rare?
The year is 2003. Wizards of the Coast is about to release its last-ever Pokémon TCG expansion before handing the reins over to The Pokémon Company. The print order for this expansion was reportedly smaller than for past expansions, possibly because of the handover. The Charizard “crystal” card was included as a secret rare, meaning it’s already an ultra-limited card in an ultra-limited set. The population of Skyridge cards is famously low.
And since our last dance with Skyridge, the prices have only increased, with recent comps valuing the card close to $200,000. That’s double its value from when we first put the card up on BOXED for Skyridge Summer.
There are two Skyridge boxes on BOXED.GG. A standard box that costs more, but has more favorable odds. But if you're feeling extra spicy, you can also open our Spicy Skyridge Nightmare box for a lower entry price, but tougher odds. And remember, we show all of our pull rates on the page so you know what you're getting into!
A Bounty of Riches on BOXED
Our Super Grail Skyridge Charizard joins an absolute banger of a lineup of cards available to chase on BOXED. Not only are there two Skyridge boxes to pull from, but we have several high-value chases across our other TCGs, including a sealed T1 Signature Bundle for Riftbound, a BGS 8.5 Black Lotus Magic: The Gathering card, and a PSA 10 Red Manga Ace One Piece card.
