Everything Announced About the Naruto Card Game

Bandai Card Games finally, finally revealed its hugely hyped Naruto Card Game a day before Gen Con 2026. Alongside the first official cards, Bandai also shared gameplay mechanics as well as its roadmap leading up to a worldwide launch in Summer 2027. Read on for the full scoop!

The Naruto Card Game will feature characters and stories from across the Naruto franchise including Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

The Rules

Two players will go head-to-head using decks with 51 cards built around a Leader card, with 5 Chakra cards, and one Summon card. The goal is to assemble Characters in the Leader’s colors and attack the opponent until the opponent’s Leader’s Life zeroes out.

Card Types

In addition to the rules, Bandai shared the five different card types that will be part of the Naruto Card Game. Similar to Leader system games, Naruto will feature a Leader Card, and various ways to power them up.

Here’s the full breakdown according to Bandai:

Leader Card — The heart of a player's deck. A player's cards and strategies are determined by the color of their Leader, with games won when an opponent's Leader's Life is brought to zero.

Character Card — A player's front line. Character cards execute attacks, and some can unleash Jutsu, such as Ninjutsu, by paying a Chakra cost.

EX Character Card — After meeting certain conditions during the match, these powerful, high-impact Characters can swing the game into a player's favor.

Chakra Card — A player's resource pool, spent to activate Jutsu and other Support effects at the moment they're needed.

Summon Card — A required card to bring Character cards into battle.

Card Art

Bandai also shared some of the slick new art with a big focus on original art from guest artists. The Peach Momoko Tsunade card is an instant chase card, I can tell. Bandai says the Naruto Card Game will mix unique, original art as well as cards that feature original manga panels of memorable moments.

Roadmap

Bandai will officially debut the Naruto Card Game at Gen Con later this week, but is planning additional reveals leading up to the official launch next summer.
